Open Up Resources today introduced the grade band expansion of top–rated EL Education Language Arts to K–8. This nationally-acclaimed program, based on joyful rigor, supports all students to access grade-level texts and standards.
EL Education K–8 Language Arts deeply engages students with compelling, real-world content, deepening content knowledge through science and social studies topics while employing a “read–think–talk–write” framework to promote literacy and writing skills. This fully standards-aligned core curriculum includes a multi-sensory structured phonics block to help students crack the alphabetic code. To meet students where they are, structured formative assessments are paired with scaffolded differentiation guidance in addition to summative assessments.
Built on the UDL framework, this curriculum also includes research-based supports for English language learners. In addition, EL Education K–8 provides opportunities for authentic student voice and rich discussions celebrating diversity.
Prioritizing whole child instruction, perseverance, collaboration and responsibility are woven into daily lessons developing students into ethical people, demonstrating kindness, honesty, and compassion.
