About Dr. Safi

Dr. Farshid Safi, a dedicated K-12 Mathematics Education faculty member and secondary education program coordinator at the University of Central Florida, is deeply involved in fostering meaningful learning experiences for students and educators across North America. His teaching spans mathematics content and methods courses in universities across the U.S and Canada, while his research centers on cultivating comprehensive, relevant, and interconnected mathematical understanding among students and teachers.

Through collaborations focusing on reasoning, equity, technology integration, and mathematical literacy, Dr. Safi actively engages in professional development and consultation with K-12 teachers on both national and international scales. His influential roles within esteemed organizations, such as the Association of Mathematics Teacher Educators (AMTE) and the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM), underscore his commitment to shaping impactful policies and practices that empower both students and educators.
