Kristin Valle, a Reading Coach at Cleveland Elementary School of Hillsborough County Public Schools (FL), has been named the Open Up Resources EL Education K–8 Language Arts Teacher of the Month for September.
Valle’s work with EL Education K–8 Language Arts makes her one of the most innovative teachers in the country. The EL Education K–8 Language Arts curriculum inspires a new way of teaching language arts by engaging students through compelling, real-world content to build equitable and inclusive learning opportunities.
Colleague, Tina Chartier, shared that Kristin has gone above and beyond planning and implementing EL Education K–8 Language in their school. “Kristin works to incorporate technology by creating fun and engaging Nearpod lessons for students,” she noted.
Student engagement is high in Valle’s classes and students are excited to learn with the curriculum. Besides just supporting her own students, Chartier explained that “Kristin is available to plan with grade-level teachers and support their implementation as well.”
